Honestly get rid of the Topic Created By, Msgs, and Last Post banner. It looks awful on mobile and just takes up space with info that is already there for users to see.

In mobile the left bar that shows the poster's info is waaay too thick. It takes up almost half the screen and forces the actual useful info (the post itself) to be squished.

All that needs done, is reducing the font-size to about 125%.

I will say i like the idea of combining the boards for all the platforms the game is on, while still being able to filter to the different platforms.

Will the redundant sticky topics be dealt with? For example, on the GTA V board there are three sticky topics saying the same thing.

The top bar is kind of self explanatory. Honestly, I like the classic blue color, but the text is a bit much, especially since the "topic created by" creeps onto two rows.
Can you move the last post collumn one ot even half a tab right? Kinda cramped. I'm pretty sure it's actually the same distance as current, but since the box is taller from the topic title it feels like it takes up more room.

What we need is a Chat Room mode & locking dead forums to consolidate traffic with the main page resembling a modern layout w/ a News Feed. The forums themselves need minimal work IMHO. The best thing they could add is a NSFW tag. Start Karma rewards. Etc

Could also use a collapsible activity tracker widget on the right

implement a deeper system for imbedded YouTube videos. Some people would love that.

Offer to partner with devs & pubs for pinning privileges. Idk. Start a Wiki section

Oh. Sticky overload is an interesting problem. That gonna require manual labor, possibly merging of stickies (it will require manually placing all the good parts in a sticky at the top of page 1, which is kind of an idea I like. Stickies IN a sticky), or just unsticky.

That also means it might be a good idea to propagate stickies to all platform forums?

I've always wondered why gamefaqs, in all of its stuck in the early 2000s glory, has never had a (unique) view counter for a topic.

Sometimes it'd be nice it know if a topic is getting views but no posts and people just aren't interested or if it's just getting overlooked. This is probably more of a feature that'd benefit dead boards and fairly active boards like CE.

I don't like new things and it's ugly. But slightly better then the last one.

Just a few thoughts to throw out on the design since you since you seem to still be reading this topic (save me a feedback ticket, hopefully):

-The italic topic titles for topics with new posts are really annoying and difficult to read when mixed in with normal (unread) topics. I would consider a different formatting entirely (I know that some other websites use bold for new posts, but I'm not a fan of that either; perhaps normal text but a more noticeable icon in place of the blue dot). Also, if that's changed then italics might actually be more fitting for archived topics to distinguish them from active topics.

-Combined gamespaces that are not different console releases (such as Pokemon versions) need different game flairs (for example, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald have combined boards but show GBA/GBA/GBA which is obviously not practical). This may need to be added manually per game.

-It's very awkward having game boards and social board having entirely different layouts, especially when you access them all the same way through your favorites board list. I hope that something will be done about this after the new layout is fixed and finalized (but PLEASE only after it's completely finished).

That's fine, but you'd think they'd hire competent designers and web developers to achieve that and not throw something together themselves.

I don't believe anyone is actually against the idea of change, it's just that the way they are trying to do it is so asinine.

Sort by popular feature should be redone. If you look at the Switch board now, Smash Bros., Disgaea, Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter are at the top. If you join the beta you'll see Genshin Impact and Skyrim at the top. Combining the boards makes it look like those are the actual popular Switch games when they're not, they're just the more popular message boards. It's going to confuse people who don't know any better.

Get rid of the word Forum altogether. That word is disgusting to look at.

Too many sticky topics. Like holy shit. Cut them down to one per board.

Though I guess you could implement a "Show Sticky" feature for people who have visited the board more than once or something
