That was one of the smartest back-to-back reveals they've ever done in Nintendo/Smash history. DQ absolutely is huge enough to warrant a character in Smash. And they did a good job in making him more of a magic user than a sword character. But at the end of the day, he's still an anime dude with a sword. But following that reveal up with one of the most highly-requested characters in the west was a perfect make-good, especially when it's a cartoon bear & bird who fight with eggs and bombs and shit. God.
