Men are truly wild

This nasty old drunk man started hitting on me and I politely declined. Then he said he wanted to take me to the strip club so I can dance for him. Security noticed and made eye contact with me but we ended up leaving around the same time with him leaving slightly before me.

Security walked up and said he was going to walk me to my car because the man was waiting outside.

The guy had the nerve to ask why I was so polite in turning him down. I just said I was raised that way but the reality is I don't want to risk getting beaten or murdered by a disgusting man who feels entitled to my attention because I existed in public.

I don't either. But it really sucks as a woman. I'm sure it feels bad to feel accused of a behavior you don't feel you exhibit but women literally get randomly killed by stranger men. It sucks to always have to be on guard. I carry a handgun with me now everywhere and I never used to feel the need to. I hate guns.

Not all men are like the guy you ran into also in regards to the gun you carry guns don't kill people its people that kill people. Guns are tools & nothing else a gun won't pull its own trigger it requires a person to do that. A kitchen knife can kill just as easily as a gun can but once again won't sudden lodge itself into some persons chest or slice someone's neck no it requires a person to do those things the blame lie with the user not the tool.

Most guys would look at a woman and maybe think to themselves boy i bet shes good at x,y,z but they have common sense that says you dont say that or even act upon it outside of whats going on in the head.

idk about most, but its enough to be a problem, even if all of them arent vocalizing said thoughts. Even when not directly taught, men learn to objectify women from their surrounding culture and media intake. It takes an active effort to unlearn toxic traits and habits and I dont think most men are starting off with the best tools or disposition to begin with.

Glad ya stayed safe. But hope you made sure to check he didnt follow you home. Hate saying it but a ton of men dont get the answer no.

Its definitely a thing. I worked security before and one of our main protocols was to walk all the female staff to their cars at night in case of any shenanigans. Female security officers weren't allowed to work graveyard shifts either not even in enclosed office buildings (because you still had to go outside sometimes at weird hours). Even in broad daylight women always have to be wary and watch themselves if they alone. Not that men don't have to worry about being harassed or jacked up, but obviously it's not a relentless thought at the back of our minds. The only time that even cross my mind is if I knew I was near a criminal hotspot.
