career change for the better, met a certain weight/financial goal, traveling, spouse, etc...I'm not saying you have to do anything drastic, but if you can only remember playing video games and **** posting on reddit for the past two years then idk how you can live with that lol

Usually they manage to obtain a good, and stable job in a X town or city relativily early into their adult life, and just remain their for years and decades. Perfectly content with it.

Vs nomads not tied down to any one place and just wonder around chasing the next job and paycheck.

I'm just very comfortable living a very banal, samey lifestyle. Being able to have some idea of what you'll be doing most days for the next 3 1/2 years is a lot less anxiety inducing than living by the seat of your pants and having to come up with stuff.

What do you expect someone to do if they have everything under control?

You can have a stable job and finances and still have other goals and activities. I'm not telling you to go and become a doctor/engineer in one year, but idk how you can go through 2 years and the highlight of your life be a warzone kill streak or specific night at the same bar you frequent

My parents are living out their years primarily just consuming news on the TV or reading newspapers via online subscriptions. After they became empty nesters, that was just about it.

I've never done anything like that. Never had any vacations, trips, or really anything.

A few years ago, when I was in therapy, he suggested "life enriching" activities. One he suggested was a trip to an amusement park. I didn't feel free to do such(extremely controlling parents, the reason I was in therapy). So, when I brought up the suggestion it was shut down fast.

Anyway, much later, I suggested it again and they agreed on the condition that they were in charge of everything and I paid for the entire trip. So, I did, they even invited my uncle and his gf, who ended up cutting the whole thing short anyway.

But I did get to go to Dollywood for a few hours. Rode some rollercoasters which was fun, but that's about it. It was ok, nothing special really. Dunno why something like that would need to be done yearly.

Easy. Genuinely enjoy doing both of those things and time will fly. Interactions with people online may vary enough to keep it interesting, and unless your on the picky side with the kind of games you like, or lack the funding, you're not gonna run out of games to play.

Ehh, my life for this year hasn't been very stable in regards to moving different states, job, work travel, etc. Looking back, having a good stable schedule...is awesome as fuck and makes it easier to carve out time for traveling, hit career, financial, weight, physique, and relationship goals.

Is TC just talking about people not having hobbies or something?

I don't remember taking any, no. The mountains looked nice, but I live in mountains so it was just more of the same aside from the "smoky" haze they had.
