Im sure many parents arent cool with their 18 year old signing up for the military and getting shipped 5,000 miles away to fight and possibly die in a war.

parents arent really an ideal measuring stick for this, considering a lot of parents dont give 2 shits about their kids and the rest still treat their 30 year old kid like their precious baby

There is nothing inherently wrong about an 18 year old dating an older partner. If the older partner is not truly invested in the relationship, however, and is using their experience to woo or dupe the younger partner, that's when morality comes into play.

Certainly, but the argument could be made that duping an 18 year old is more egregious because a 24 year old has had more time to become privy to the machinations of relationships.

Either they are arguing than an 18 year is not infact an adult in any way shape or form, or they have no leg to stand on as all these scenarios they come up with are not age specific.

This is why they tried so hard to avoid my questioning why an 18 year old can consent to work among other things.

But if someone's stance is "it's legal so it's automatically okay and you can't judge me" then you have every reason to believe they'd make the same argument for countries where the age of consent is lower, like 14 or 15

they might, I dont go to other countries but whatever they are doing seems to be working for them, for example I just googled and i see france aoc is 16 but we never see anything about girls being exploited there I think its just a different culture, I doubt most of their guys go specifically looking for a 16 year old, I think if there were problems with it the aoc there would be changed quickly
