I don't know how many times it has to be spelled out that this is about a very specific type of person who preys on only 18 year olds and avoids dating older people, not some guy who just happened to meet an 18 year old

I don't date 18 year olds but if they can give consent that means who they date is of their own free will.

If you believe they are being manipulated then you are saying they cannot give consent to things like going on a fieldtrip or watching a sex ed video and need a parent to sign papers for that consent.

And other things like bank account, etc. I mean, minors have to have parent consent to work a job right?

An 18 year old generally not being mature enough to deal with sexual/romantic relations with people significantly older than them means they're incapable of deciding on going on a trip without parental approval...jesus christ

Except that is the whole point of what consent means.

A child doesn't understand these things and therefor cannot consent to: sex, work, going on fieldtrip, etc

If you think an 18 year old can do all these things and understand them, which you probably do, then they can also understand having sex with someone.
