I have enough money to pay rent next month, and enough for a few more weeks of food. But in 2 or 3 weeks I'm gonna be totally broke with no income. Gotta find a job fast. I think I might lose the hubris and start applying for minimum wage fast food jobs.

Now is the time - at least here.

Every single fast-food place is hiring up to $13 an hour here.

If it were closer to the school year and you have a degree - substitute teaching is a good temp job to have. Pays per day and you can choose to work/not work as you please. On a resume you can keep it listed for the whole year, even if you only subbed one or two days and can be a good way to explain away the time without a job.

Place I work is starting part timers at 13.90.

Everyone has drastically raised their wages since it's nearly impossible to hire anyone.

I don't know how you do it. Stimulus checks were only like $2,000 total, right? That's like a month of expenses...

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I honestly wouldn't mind a temp job as a restocker or a cart pusher until something real came through. Beats a food job by a mile. Thing is, how long would it take me to get hired at one of these places. Sigh

Overnight stocking at Walmart has huge turnover so you would probably get hired right away.

Yea from this year (not including the one from last year)

As of now, I didn't have to pay much in rent, but I do alot of Programming/Design Freelance, and I really need to upgrade my Tech

I dunno, maybe I should try to get my License back and get a Black Car Driving Job (used to be a Messenger for a couple of App Companies before they Ceased Ops due to you know what...)

that's what I hear, but why? Isn't it just cold calling people and they hang up on you 95% of the time? Seems simple, albeit boring and certainly not something I want to do for 40-60 hours a week.

Depends on the call center and the nature of the calls. The bigger issue is your time can be heavily micro-managed, you can have very specific scripts you jump between, you're evaluated on how many specific actions you can get customers to take (in some cases), etc.

And it can be non-stop.

I personally enjoy landscaping a lot, and applying is easy. I'm getting paid $20 an hour currently with monthly $1 raises.

I've done my time at fast food, and could again but ultimately prefer not dealing with

a) large team (leading to disorganization)
b) poo pay
c) bad management
d) customers
