I ordered a replacement social security card a few weeks ago. I signed up for the informed delivery service so that I get an email with a picture of each piece of mail I'm supposed to receive that day.

On Monday, I saw the picture of the mail from the Social Security Administration along with 3 other items. I got those other 3 items, but not the mail from the Social Security Administration. Went to the post office to ask about it. They say to go on the USPS app and say I didn't receive the mail and someone would reach out to me within 48 hours.

It has been 48 hours, no word. Informed Delivery support online only does tech support for the Informed Delivery service itself.

Probably gonna have to just order another one. Damn it.

USPS is a load of shit.

I've paid for signature on delivery stuff before (it requires a signature saying they received it) and they just dropped it off at the wrong post office (I had to go to that post office and pick it up, then deliver it to the place required).

Never pay for the extra stuff.

I live in a very rural area, USPS has never failed me. I was sad I needed like 3 years of driving experience to get a part time job with them.

that's definitely irritating, but what more could they possibly do besides say "sorry, it looks like we lost that item"?

UPS and FedEx have actual lost delivery support that is actually pretty good. If you call them, they typically open a ticket and start looking for it within a few hours. It's much more robust than "check this box saying you didn't receive this item and wait endlessly while we never find it."
