We got Street Fighter vs Tekken nearly a decade ago on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Playstation Vita but nine years later series creator Katsuhiro Harada confirmed earlier this month in a Japanese broadcast that the project is officially "dead".
But it's been nearly 7 years since the project went on "Hiatus" in the first place, right? According to this article from msn, the game "was only about 30% complete with promo art and motion capture being the majority of the completed work." So that means that even though nothing was coming of this project for years, Bandai Namco instead kept their fans baited hoping to keep people lined up for a game they would never get. A lot of ppl knew it was going to be cancelled. Im surprised they didnt just say this years ago. Wouldve loved to see how it would turn out.
Capcom got only themselves to blame for leaving a big roster on disc dlc (which hackers got them playable before release) Another problem was the gem system and timer (heard a lot of complaints about it). Balancing was an issue but no fighters ever balanced. Game was fun playing the tekken characters in 2D. ESpecially loved how juri played there. It's been dead but Harada being the usual asshole he is strung people along for years until he finally had his fun, now he's trolling roster people who don't like Kazuya if only he put as much effort in his games as he did his trolling.
