Late Friday evening, Twitch banned content creators Kaitlyn Amouranth Siragusa and Jenelle Indiefoxx Dagres, two major streamers on the platform. The ban is another example of Twitchs ongoing process to moderate what it deems as sexually suggestive content. Siragusa and Dagres had roughly 3.15 million and 934,610 followers on the platform respectively, per Streamscharts. Both channels are still down at time the time of press. Siragusa told Polygon that Twitch told her the reason behind the ban was sexual content. Prior to the ban, the streamer did an ASMR yoga stream during which she held various yoga poses and simulated the sound of having your ear licked using a microphone. I think I will have to be more careful the atmosphere around moderation seems to be to let things fly until they are impossible to ignore, Siragusa told Polygon over email. She also emphasized that she was not the first person to do an ASMR yoga stream.

The ban follows the ongoing push and pull between Twitch and its creators, as the company attempts to define and moderate what it sees as sexually suggestive content. Earlier this year, the hot tub meta a kind of content that involves people streaming in a hot tub, usually wearing swimsuits prompted Twitch to create a new category for the streams to address complaints from viewers and advertisers.

iirc they're only 3 day bans, and this is the 4th or 5th time they've been banned for this same thing.

It's clear they've been getting preferential treatment, and it's clear they knew they were gonna get banned over this, all this will do is give them a short vacation and a ton of advertisement for when they return. Twitch dropped the ball hard with their inconsistency, streamers have and will continue to get permabanned for less, but these two seem to be absolutely bullet proof and held to a completely different set of standards than everyone else.

Because twitch is one fox/msnbc hit piece of away from losing the majority of their big mainstream sponsors, which effects all streamers ad revenue on the platform, and pulls in a new viewerbase who then go to other female streamers and shit up their chats by demanding the same coomer content that these types of streamers churn out. tbqh, it's already happening, with many normal female streamers getting harassed from these types of viewers.

Probably a shitton of ad revenue, which is why token punishments happen. That way, Twitch can play favorites without obviously and blatantly playing favorites.

The really messed up thing is that after twitch created a hot tub category specifically for this reason, the major streamers involved came up with a new "I'm not touching you" style of gimmick to dodge the rules and market sexuality to the general audience all over again.

They clearly understand the rules, and they're clearly evading them with specific intent to do so.

You could argue they are bringing in new viewers that were never going to watch legitimate gamers in the first place. At the end of the day these women need to go into OF. Its gross that they are featured on the main page for underage kids to see.
