Part of me wants to say Stargate SG-1, up until the end of season 7. Maybe Season 8. The practical side of said effects greatly outweighed the CG unless the the Asgard were involved and walking on two feet rather than sitting around, and even in those moments it was fine. To make matters even better as per some perspective, SG-1 was good until the end of season 8, which served to provide some bias or else some acknowledgement that the effects were fitting and forgiving for what slips existed. Atlantis was good too, but that was more technical than practical, and it shows when they're not running through the laser tag cour-- I mean Wraith ship corridors.
