US Supreme Court blocks child slavery lawsuit against chocolate firms

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57522186

Tl;dr they still kidnap children and Africans and use them as slaves. Our government decided that's okay, since the abuse doesn't happen in US territory, despite the rest of the company running in the US.

Also related, but not in the article above, nestle's CEO doesn't think water is a human right.

Nestle is true evil.

Also good to see the US is fully supporting slavery shortly after making Juneteenth official.

If they stopped Nestle then they'd probably have to stop every single other US company that takes advantage of child slavery, and we can't have that.

Time to rebrand child slavery into child internships.

The juvenile workforce allows young people to contribute meaningfully to society. Some children choose not to go into education or to enjoy their youth, and these corporations are dedicated to protecting them from ageist workplace laws.

Fuck this sort of thinking. Water is a human right. You need it to live.

One step forward, two steps back.

Yes, the 6 men kidnapped and starved that pled in court failed to choose to not go into education. Clearly this was all their own fault and these cooperation's are saving them! What should the slogan be? Maybe something catchy like "work will set you free! "

please note: the above paragraph was sarcasm and the quote was above a Nazi camp.

They buy natural springs that indigenous people have used for ages, fence them off, and charge exorbitant fees to get water. Oh and ruin the surrounding land in the process.

I generally try to avoid politics and things like that for my own sanity, but this company is my second most hated.

I do my part I haven't spend one cent on their shit in well over a decade. It's all processed shit that isn't good for you anyway. I won't touch their "spring" water either.

I avoid all the corrupt big corps. that take shortcuts and produce garbage junk food. If I buy processed foods like chips or snacks I buy them from small independant companies just starting up. They practice ethics, the food is healthier and often organically sourced.

I can't keep track of all these unethical practices from these corporations but yeah they make unhealthy shit and should be avoided anyway on that principle.
