Do you want to try to learn to drive a vehicle with a 'Steering Yoke' instead of a 'Steering Wheel'?

I'm sure it's something that anyone can get used and it seems interesting. Trying new stuff is cool

Apart from being able to see the HUD better, since the top half of the wheel is gone, are there benefits of this specific yoke?

You already listed the benefit.

It makes turning alot more of a chore.

You have to do alot of Cross-Arm turning, which isn't comfortable and dangerous should you get into an accident and your arms are crossed along with the airbag inflating.

Tesla is making every single mistake imaginable and how they develop their cars and they're going to be rewarded for it.

People are going to think that yoke steering, no radar, and no lidar is the best thing ever.

It's all ass backwards. Tesla using computer vision exclusively is going to bite them hard.

So you want to enter an era where hackers can take control of your car and kill you.

Smart idea. -_-

Most people don't really think through the implications when you say you want ___

Self Driving cars are one of them, and that just opens it up to hacking with what you want.

Especially since every Tesla car has a Cell Phone connection to the internet.

I'm pretty sure the car controls only work through an IPsec tunnel back to Tesla's network, though. I can't SSH into my car even though it's on my home network, either.

I'm sure hackers are constantly finding vulnerabilities, then Tesla patches those vulnerabilities, and the endless cycle of hacking & patching continues.

https://insideevs.com/news/343750/hackers-cause-tesla-model-s-to-steer-itself-into-oncoming-lane-video/

I'd rather make sure my vehicles don't have any "Autonomous" driving interface or software.

And don't have any Internet connection.

That makes life ALOT harder for hackers when there's no WireLess Link and no "Autonomous" driving interface.

This isn't "hackers constantly finding vulnerabilities."

I like the fact that my car is connected. Over the air software updates to fix bugs is a lot better than having to take the car to the dealership every time or just dealing with problems because you either don't have time or don't feel like taking it in.

Also, many cars have internet connections these days.

Yeah, my default driving position is left hand on 12, so that would pretty much not be possible.

Admittedly, I do use left hand on 9 or 6:30 quite a bit, but... I wouldn't want this yoke steering wheel, ether way.

I'm also not sold on the new Teslas "deciding whether you want to be in drive or reverse based on what the car sees."

I really don't like the idea of not having a stock to change between drive and reverse. I want to test drive it to see how it is, though. Maybe this is just 100% me just saying I don't like it because I'm unfamiliar with it, but that doesn't sound good at all at first glance.

Pacific northwest We get lots of rain, it gets dark and foggy, to add onto that we use "non toxic" road paint and the road lines are invisible in these conditions, in the winter it gets dark at 4ish

If you can't find Public Transport, find a Car Pool group and pay the fee to be part of that Car Pool group.

I'm sure if you look hard enough, you'll find a group who'll do Car Pooling for you into whatever major city area you care about.
