Came across a video on YouTube that was based off when kumail nanjiani got super ripped for a role a couple of years ago and people were criticizing him and saying he had to of used steroids to put on that kind of muscle so fast.

But......who gives a fuck? He's not taking part in a competition, he's just an actor preparing for a role as a comic book hero. If I had to transform my body for an acting role I'd definitely take steroids. It would make that process waaaay more efficient.

They feel like they're calling something out as if any reasonable person didn't know that actors use steroids.

Also some people think steroids are insanely harmful and they really aren't.

Well yeah, probably cause it's a frowned upon thing(and possibly illegal? I honestly don't know). Seems silly to me that it would be frowned upon in that context though.

Accidentally deleted my post, but everything hollywood does leads to those unrealistic expectations.

Check out Jackman talking about how he was dehydrated to the point of near hospitalization for all the shirtless scenes in Logan.

And also the fact that the body fat % they have during filming is next to impossible to maintain longterm, especially for Joe average without trainers and nutritionists and top notch juice.

Only unprescribed steroid use is illegal and it obviously also depends on the steroid. Some are hard illegal, regardless of prescription

The majority of naive and impressionable young people don't know just how widespread steroid usage is and how much time and effort it takes to build a muscular and aethetic body drug free. They only obiovus thing to them is that the 270 lb, 9% body fat body building competion freaks take PEDs.

It's just annoying when people are obviously on steroids but pretend they got their physique natural. It's in all industries. You see it from actors, Instagram fitness influencers, some YouTubers, and so on. It make regular people have unrealistic expectations.

If you're on steroids, just say so. Way too many regular people are starting to think that they can look like Captain America within a few months of going to the gym when that's not the case at all.

Chris Pratt transformation is actually believable and attainable though. Looking at pics of him in his teens and 20s the guy was fit and in good shape for most of his life. Him dieting down was him returning back to his baseline build with muscle memory
