My parents divorced when I was 8. My Dad was awarded custody (by agreement, not a fight). He was an electrical engineer. He didn't need child support. He was awarded it just because that's how it fucking goes.

he should of just kept his dick tucked away, but at the same time I can understand the frustration; especially if those involved went out of their way to make his life difficult. If they hated each other I'm sure they did.

I'd say in the end the blame for something like this would be 50/50. Feelings escalate shit happens. He didn't murder anyone or was apparently violent so I wouldn't hold it against him. Life happens, move on try to look towards something positive and find some happiness is what I'd tell the man. (and woman/kid)

The father did not want to be on camera but said in a phone interview he let the emotions get the best of him and dumped the pennies because of 18 years of built up frustration that his estranged daughter put him through but now regrets it and doesn't want to put more distance between him and her any longer..of which this did just that

You reap what you sow. Maybe the daughter wasn't the problem. Just maybe it's the guy who spent a good while going to the bank and gathering 80000 pennies, renting a trailer to haul it and just dumping it on their yard.

Happened to a buddy of mine.

He gave up on his daughter around the time she was 14-15 and started over with another family. He really tried but he only had her for like one day per week, and his daughter wasnt happy to see him, claimed that she likes her other daddy more, and eventually devolved to calling him by his first name. Its pretty sad watching it all unfold, especially since the reason he broke up with his baby moms is because she was cheating on him with his friend.

Same thing happened to an acquaintance of mine. His wife cheated on him, left him, and slowly spent the next few years poisoning their children's mind against him. His kids now hate him and blame him for the marriage ending when their mom cheated on him in the first place. Dude is one of the nicest people I've ever met and will give you the shirt off his back and be out on the street instead.

At first I was ready to be totally against the man...then I got the end of the story and read that the daughter donated the money.

What he did was petty for sure, but I can understand getting a little petty if you spend almost two decades paying child support to people who don't actually need the money.
