Either you're mistaking his videos where he goes around the world trying out different cuisine with his Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares' stuff or you've never seen them. You can see him trying out the maggot cheese/fried tarantula stuff and being polite about it.

On the contrary, him being such an aggressive person on his teaching shows actually highlights it even more when someone like that with even more sensitive taste buds can still be polite to extremely exotic cuisine. Also, if you're referring to the C word, that's not considered a slur in Australia and the UK where he's from.

Also, On both Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, the show and Ramsay are paying for free renovations/awarding a major chef/restaurant ownership position. If he's investing in something, I think that can give him some license to say your food is dogshit.

Especially if, as normally occurred in Kitchen Nightmares, most restaurants that were failing tried to overcharge people for microwaved frozen disgusting food and shoddy health code practices.

The thing is there are parts of the world where people eat those food. Personally, the only time I would impose one culture's standard of what is considered normal food onto others is if making of the dish is damaging the environment aka shark fin soup. In all other scenarios, highlighting other culture's food as "weird" inhibits cultural understanding and only divides us all further apart.

In other words, you might think you are making fun of just food, which is harmless, but once that is normalized, it is inevitable that people will escalate and move onto other parts of foreign culture they find "weird." Nipping this kind of practice at the bud is precisely what the petitioners are doing and I for one do not disagree with them.

Just kidding, I'm Asian and I find the food presented in that show weird too.

Watching his show stressed me out because I've had bosses that would fly into a rage and scream at me like he did to them over the slightest mistake, or even just because they were angry.

If hes not genuinely an angry person then hes just being abrasive and mean for ratings, which is shit.

Isn't this well known? He amps it up tenfold for the American show, but does still get pissy with those in the UK when they fuck up and refuse to admit they did/correct the mistake.

I don't think either should be cancelled but it shows the level of difference when Gordon whose image is based around being an asshole is classier than Corden when it comes to trying out foreign food. Although Gordon has a rather valid reason on being an asshole since the people he yells at are the people whose careers he's trying to create.

The charge is that he features almost exclusively gross Asian food. I don't know whether that's true or not, but if it is, that's wrong. You can find gross stuff in any culture. Chitterlings or rocky mountain oysters, for example.

Yes, Asian cultures do eat extremely weird shit by western standards. Go to any dim sum place and they have anything from chicken feet, to pig ears, to intestines and it's totally normal over there.

Pointing out the obvious, that asian food is radically different than western food isn't "racist" or advocating "asian hate."

It sounds like the issue is he supposedly focuses exclusively on "different" asian food, when plenty of weird shit from other countries. Heck, plenty of things back in his home country American's would find weird he could show off, Europe in General or just anywhere in the world. No idea how true this is, but it's a simple fix if true.

There may be some British regional dishes that Americans might find weird (although how many examples do you think there really are, besides tripe maybe?), but I assume "weird" isn't considered strong enough.

Edit: And not to defend Corden because fuck him. But seeing his stuff on UK shows before he crossed the Atlantic, he was genuinely funny. It's the strangest thing seeing him going from this pretty funny guy to.....whatever he is now.
