Hmm... I do feel like revisiting a game that's not seen a release on newer platforms.
*sets up the PS2 and boots it with a desired game; notes that memory card is full*
Just need to free up a few kb and I should be good!
*browses memory card, highlights one save file of little worth*
Won't be playing that game again, so I can safely erase

I know for a fact that I never finished Gran Turismo 4. All those dauntingly-long endurance races, demanding driving missions, being burned out by trying and failing to get the coveted gold license reward cars...

The save file's still there, dating to early 2006. I cannot pick it up and continue where I left off, not because I don't know how to play, but because that 2006 will then turn into a 2021. Feels wrong, like... sacrilege, for a lack of a better word. It's only a number, but it's... also a lot more than that.
