I'm no lawyer as I said earlier but from what I've read online what actually transpired is really more consistent with voluntary manslaughter than 2nd degree murder, that's usually the sentences for these types of cases

it does say "Extremely insulting gestures or words are generally not sufficient provocations to reduce a charge from murder to manslaughter." which may mean it is in fact 2nd degree murder, I guess we'll see

Voluntary manslaughter under Virginia law requires the killing occur in the heat of passion as a result of provocation that both actually did and would be reasonably expected to deprive a defendant of self control.

Other than the general rule that words alone are not enough to constitute adequate provocation, that issue is a question of fact for the jury.

Ive noticed in all cases where someone proposes non lethal violence as an alternative to an extreme such as murder CE flips out and says you clearly want violence.

I hope someone would just punch me versus murder me if they must so this means im suicidal to CE.

He didn't "go crazy" as in he's less responsible for his actions.

From the article

No one has said all LGBT people are predators. This one gay man who disguised himself as a women to trick an 18 year old into having sex with him was a predator. He shouldn't have been murdered for it and the guy needs to go to prison for a long time but I would say this one guy was a predator.
