I vote for BOTW, while it is a good game that does some things really really well, in the end it was one of the most disappointing games I've ever played but yet it is considered the best game of all time but most people , its not even the best 3D Zelda game (all my opinion of course) and it has too many glaring flaws.

I tried so many times to like this but it was just far too weird and nonsensical for me. :/

The last of us 2. - Honestly you could have liked the story and all the award it got still feels like they are just awarding it to stand up the bigots who hated Abby.

BOTW- I know a lot of people love it. But I swear if this didn't have the Zelda name on it, people would not put up with it short comings . The weapon breaking and the lack of story. And the Graphics that can be replicated on a dang phone. Would not be something gets game of the year .

And I am trying to look at this objectively. Not just famous games that many people like that I hate.

I was there, and I still missed what was supposed to be so good about it. It had a very robust online multiplayer community, maybe that was why?

Like many FPS games of that era, Half Life was surpassed almost immediately by FPS games that would follow.

Half-Life as a game feels like a halloween fun house simulator.

Definitely agree on Witcher 3, writing was good, but gameplay was a slog at best, the combat had no real meat and was very easy.

Gotta go with The Last of Us 2. I view the game as little more than misery porn that ruined one of my favorite endings of any video game.

Not really but HL did have more "WTF, how did I just die" moments. I would call that the mark of a bad game but it's prolific none the less.

it's not unique to Persona, and I feel the same for any JRPG where you stand in front of your enemies, and you just scroll through a menu to fight, heal, defend, etc., and the rest of the game is basically an adventure game.

P5 just stands out to me because I've been a fan of the series since the first one (Persona/SMT are the only JRPGs that I've ever liked), and its gameplay doesn't feel like it has evolved since P3/P4.

BotW is a great shout. Some great aspects, but incredibly repetitive, with a map completely devoid of anything interesting and a virtually non-existant story.

In general, a lot of still going but classic Japanese titles (as in Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy etc). I just really don't mesh with Japanese story telling. It's often super campy, unnecessarily convoluted, full of melodrama and annoying characters. I can enjoy some of the games, but for the life of me will never understand why people rate them so highly and there's definitely some legacy biases too.

The Soulsbourne games are another good shout. I played Dark Souls and thought it was one of the most boring, tedious games I've ever played. I get that the appeal was in large part due to the difficulty, but it just didn't manage to be difficult AND entertaining.

Gears of War series. I love a good shooter, but I've just never been into these. Don't get the appeal.

Sonic Heroes. Overrated as fuck. Nice gameplay but yall think we really care about 3/4 of the cast? My boy Omega is a boss but outside of him and Sonic, the cast sucks.

BotW's weapon durability system almost made me quit early on. There's no excuse for not having a repair option. Also the climbing mechanics are pretty bad and make you completely hate rain being in the game. So that's my vote.

There is a lot to dislike about BotW but the complaints about the durability system always seemed odd to me. You wouldnt say Halo is bad because it doesnt let you use the sniper rifle throughout the whole game. If your gun ran out of ammo, you had to drop it and pick up a different one. Sometimes you had to use a gun that isnt your favorite gun. BotW is like that.

Though it kinda was a problem if you ran out of ammo during a fight and the game just wasnt giving you any.

Cyberpunk has to be #1 right? Single handedly the most overhyped game of our lifetime thats for sure.
