Do you think America will ever reach herd immunity?
Vote
Less than 500,000 adults a day are now being vaccinated, down from a peak of 3.4 million. As of Monday, 51.5% of the US or 170 million have got an initial dose, including those between 12-17 With counting just adults, 63.5% have got at least one jab but in order to reach 70% by July 4th, 16 million more people need to get the shot which seems out of reach as even people receiving one doses are missing appointments for 2nd doses The slowdown is of course in conservative states as conservative and anti-vaxxers have joined forces and have refused to get the shot no matter what incentives they throw at them including a lottery, free food and beer, airline passes etc.. Only Democratic states in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington have 70% vacination New York, California and Oregon have already more than 60% of adults vaccinated but other states like Alabama, Texas, Florida or South Carolina for instance will not budge These people are not changing their minds and have huge distrust on government vaccines because of uncertainty over whether or not it is safe in the long term or if they will get ill and die given the news of Astrazenica and Johnson and Johnson over blood clot fears... Despite fears of the vaccine race to curb the virus spread, particularly mutated strains getting hold of the country, the governments in all states are desperately trying to reach out to those rural conservatives who are refusing the vaccine but it may be too late and the news of Fauci's emails is also not helping the vaccination effort as they now have distrust over the health expert Pfizer and soon Moderna will be the only vaccines given to kids 12 and over and the country needs at least 80-85% herd immunity which is now out of reach Do you think America will reach herd immunity? https://i.imgur.com/HRU17nG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/b7YabzV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0XlAbhq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1y1bqCj.jpg --- The News Will Continue...For Now call me mrduckbear, sweater monkeys. My housemate whos almost in his 30s is refusing to get it because hes afraid of needles.
Americans are largely just very spoiled and cant put their money where their mouth is when it comes to doing the bare minimum to make sure people are safe. --- "You're not a good person, you'll never be one, you'll never even convince anyone to mistakenly believe you to be one." -HCE to me ... I'm sure they will get herd immunity eventually. Those that don't want the shots tend to be the ones that don't want to wear mask. Alot of them will end up getting covid. They will survive or die of covid and I will not feel sorry for them. The only worry is if some vaccine resistant variant pops up and extends the pandemic for a longer period of time,

I mean even with the partial vaccination job we have the current US Covid rates are the lowest they have been since late March of 2020 shortly after we first found Covid appearing in the USA.
Even if these people are adamant and won't get it things can still open and as stated if they get Covid from refusing a free vaccine that is their fault mostly. ... Copied to Clipboard!

As usual America has managed to turn this into a political issue and instead of working with their people to achieve something good they alienated a big portion of them, by turning it into a partisan issue and no republican's aren't the only ones to blame here.

Even though most of my coworkers are T... supporters, all but two of them have had their Covid shots. What gets me is that these two non-vaccinated workers were friendly with another coworker who scoffed at the idea of getting a covid shot, only to die of Covid-19 due to complications (such as that she had diabetes, etc.). And she died within three or four days of the first sign of symptoms, which is even more horrifying since the drive crew she led was quarantined for 2 weeks after her bosses learned that she had Covid.
