Blindly assuming everything "a scientist said" (often without so much as checking if the scientist being named actually exists, let alone whether they did say the thing) is unquestionable fact is religion-like. Actually understanding the underlying science and the evidence behind it, and believing it rather than some old fairytale with zero supporting evidence, is not even remotely the same thing.
