You can turn off some of the changes. Type about:config in the address bar, search proton, double click any/all the options to change them to false.

Worst one in a while.

One detail, it is a feature to show what audio/media is playing in a tab, but its implementation/improvement is awful. Why clutter a tab with more text instead of using visually easy/simple symbols?

yeah it looks weird. also they moved the button to mute tabs, so annoying

Weird, nothing about the layout changed for me and I think the UI actually looks slightly better now. My only complaint is same as the other person, with the change to media tabs and hiding the mute button and putting text like "PLAYING" under the normal tab text.

Thanks for the info. A few things were bugging me with the update and doing this changed the stuff back for me.
