I hated the girl friend on the back half of the season.

The writing did not add up.
Like when he left to fight the Robot, she complained that he left her and even CRIED over the fact that he left. Then she was like oh I knew you were a hero.... Dude should have been like " Then why the hell are you complaining, I literally saved a ton of lives, right in front of you. The time I missed the soup kitchen some Furry beat me up. Chick you are the only girl on Earth who has a Mars rock. ONLY one .. and you give me this mess. I am gone.. where the hell is Eve. I am going to be her Adam."

The hero team at the start that was killed. Were so fun to watch. I hate they died so fast. I in what little time we had to see them. We knew what type of people they were and their powers. I hope they do a flash back to see more of them .

The first team was cool, even if they had to rip off of other heroes. Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman, and aqua man lol

I went in blind, safe to say I lost my shit at the end of episode 1

The boys is way too nilistic and bleak for my tastes. While Invincible gets really really goring it is ultimatly an optimistic story (I have finished tne comics and am assuming the show won't change that) so I stand by what I said.

I like the Boys but Invincible is just more my taste.

I suspect that's why they killed them off -- they knew they were getting KO'd in episode 1 so why bother creating new superpowers, new costumes, new everything. Probably also symbolic in the whole "we aren't going to be another traditional superhero ripoff so buckle up" sense

Not really. The comic was always gorey. The only scene where they ramped things up was the train scene. If anything, the show played up the coming of age stuff

There isn't much of anything that "blows Invincible out of the water."

Invincible is really good stuff. It knows how to balance its tone so it's not grim-dark nonsense, but when things get dark, they get dark, and it's handled wonderfully. The voice cast is also incredibly good.

I also just finished it... huh but my topic purged. Anyhoo yeah I had a lot of thoughts on this show.

With The Boys, I think you have to go into it knowing it's more of a dark comedy. It's so ridiculous at times it borders on levity and with that in mind, it kind of frames the whole show.

Interestingly both shows seem to possibly retcon something that was implied previously.

With Invincible it's certainly meant to be a lot more serious... but still I can't help but find it interesting just how much of its plot and general arcs have been done to death by many other shows. Still a show I'd like to see, but it makes me wonder how unique the comic would have been back in the 2000s

also i doubt this was intentional but i love how atom eve's voice actress played Britta in Community, someone who was a fake environmentalist touting her desire to protest big oil/etc and save the environment and planet (but never actually actioned on her desires), whereas atom eve actually went out and did try saving the planet

I saw the comic panel prior to actually seeing the show, so I knew the discrepancy was coming. He does say "think mark, think" in the comics but even seeing it knowing it was coming still felt a little off -- i think two thinks would've been better but it's half a dozen or six of the other

Its hard to identify when someone is gonna spoil the comic vs the show otherwise.

Unfortunately I cant name any examples, but I felt like I saw it somewhat often.

But maybe I was only seeing him punch through humans, and didnt notice otherwise.

It did seem like he would just randomly just punch through other Supes though. Like hit them once or twice, then straight impale them

This. I already had something later in the story from the comic spoiled in a topic where everyone was talking about the show and then one person randomly said something about the comic. A similar thing happened to me with walking dead back in the day. I hate when people do that with shows based on Comics

Thankfully my short term memory is shit, and I likely wont remember a specific single sentence a year from now.

especially with characters that arent even introduced yet
