The 3080 Ti was literally sold out before it was even officially announced. This s*** is ridiculous.

The 3080 Ti is actually pretty terrible deal if you really think about it. It's almost double the MSRP (lol, I know you can't get anything at MSRP) of the 3080 for 10% better performance. You're basically paying for more VRAM.

I think it would have been fine at $1k but $1200 is pretty bad considering the 3080 MSRP

thank fuck I managed to get one last October though

The 3080 was extremely aggressively priced, probably because they thought AMD would come out swinging harder than they did. Can't help but feel like AMD really fucked up royally with both Radeon and Ryzen this gen. Ryzen even worse because it was objectively better than Intel, but because it moved processes, it got wrecked by the chip shortage.

Honestly, I think if you're going to pay the $1000 plus premium, you're better off with the 3090.

That said, the combination of covid-19, the transition to 4K and the global chip shortage has resulted in a weird situation in which the console generation transition has been stunted, but also the graphical power necessary to play games at 1080p is so low relative to 4K that old gpus will probably be able to max games at 1080p for half a decade.

Dont tell me that dude, I was staring at a 3090 a few months ago and I was considering buying it but I didnt because it was twice the price of a 3080
