We're still the single most important country globally. We're still the leading innovator of the world by a large margin. Our GDP is still 60% more than China despite having 1/3 the people. Just because our problems make the news, doesn't mean other countries don't have their own. The country has never been perfect as anyone who passed their middle school american history class should know. From genocide of the Indians, to slavery, to segregation, to some war atrocities in both world wars, to our treatment of asian americans especially during ww2 and like any minority still to this day there is a lot to work on. Yeah the corporate control is a plague and health care should be better for the average person and we still have a lot to do on race relations, poverty, and general education. But if you think america is in the decline, then tell me when or where is better. --- If you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all.
