At least the recordings provide evidence that kan be used to get the guy later.

I think Id rather people start recording so bad people can have consequences or be pressured to stop being bad as opposed to calling 911 so that help can come ten minutes too late.

If people are fucked up enough to laugh at a random guy getting knifed, that's on them. As a random guy, I'd kare far more about the fact that I'm getting knifed and the fucker doing it, than some idiot gibbering "wurldster!" and the online head-kase that views such as quality entertainment, and if the footage circulating on social media increases the odds of said fucker's arrest and incarceration, so be it.
