brought out an order to this gentleman for my delivery order.. I have no mask since Im fully vaccinated and they lifted the mandate. He goes, masked of course, next time Id really like you to wear a mask. All Im allowed to say is our mask policy ended for fully vaccinated people last week.

I couldnt respond. As I cant debate this guy on it. But ffs. Why wear a mask if the vaccine isnt real and why should I have to keep wearing it anyway if you refuse to get vaccinated?!?!?

I wear a mask indoors despite being fully vaccinated. Partly to protect others as not 100% and partly so wearing masks is still the norm. Lots of people haven't vaccinated. Ugh

It's weird that the same people who were like "what kind of selfish jerk doesn't wear a mask?" are now like "what kind of selfish jerk expects me to wear a mask?"

It's not 100% effective vaccine, if somebody asks, I don't see the harm in respecting their concern.

No they aren't. Phizer and Moderna are both about the same with the way they interact with RDNA. The J&J and AZ are more like standard vaccines, and less effective the way the flu vaccine is less effective

We do not agree. 2 of them are about the same, and another 2 are about the same. But a huge difference between those 2 pairs, both in terms of mechanics and effectiveness. The variants may also make the second pair even less effective, but unknown for sure.

Yes they do need to roll back the policy. It never made sense in the first place and it just gives license to anti-maskers who havent been vaccinated to eschew public safety protocol.

The covid vaccine is not FDA approved yet because we're still waiting on full results from the clinical trials, and then they have to review it. Currently the covid vaccine is under EUA (emergency use authorization), which allows it to be used early, but can be revoked at any time. Getting EUA has it's own process, where as far as I understand, the trials have to be nearly over and just waiting for the final analysis.

For an EUA to be issued for a vaccine, for which there is adequate manufacturing information to ensure quality and consistency, FDA must determine that the known and potential benefits outweigh the known and potential risks of the vaccine. An EUA request for a COVID-19 vaccine can be submitted to FDA based on a final analysis of a phase 3 clinical efficacy trial or an interim analysis of such trial, i.e., an analysis performed before the planned end of the trial once the data have met the pre-specified success criteria for the studys primary efficacy endpoint.

See this really pisses me off.

There were so many people who are like "it's not about politics, it's about SAVING LIVES, anybody who can't handle wearing a mask is a selfish idiot, it's not that hard and it saves lives." But now that it's "conservative" to wear masks and not get the vaccine right away people completely flip the script.

"It's so annoying to wear this mask, I'd love to not wear it but these idiots still want to wear it."

Like even vaccinated people like myself want to still wear a mask, because it is about saving lives. It's not a instant "you'll never get it and you'll never spread it" thing, it seriously reduces the severity if you do get it, I assume it reduces your ability to spread it too, but that's not the same as a cure. And so you are saving more lives by continuing to wear a mask. And so if that is indeed the primary goal as is stated we should all keep wearing masks until it's prevalence in society is way down.

Quit playing team sports with science.

Seems relatively reasonable. I mean why have the process to get full approval if it is never necessary. Clearly the final steps of full approval are relevant.

If somebody is very careful about how they live and always wears a mask and doesn't go indoors with many people I could see a reasonable arguement to wait it out until more information is known,

All the "get the vax get the vax" scolders are going to look like assholes if the 0.2% chance plays out that it actually has some major bad side effects in the longer term or whatever.

From what I've seen of people discussion the science the only realistic avenue for that to be true is that the spike protein itself contained in the vaccine could cause damage to a person, but obviously there is very little evidence of that so far,

I got the vaccine, I'm not super worried, but calling people dumb or equivalent to what we normally mean by "anti-vax" because they are waiting for FDA approval is inaccurate, particularly if these people practice social distancing and mask wearing.

Wearing masks seems to be comparable at reducing the likelyhood of getting/spreading the disease. So I'm very much in favor of it until the viral spread in a region is effectively 0.

I have been no masked for a week now and havent encountered any anti vaxers luckily. Everyone here is pretty cool about it. Some wear masks and some dont.

While we should be wearing masks, it is perfectly reasonable to be weary about a rushed vaccine. Not saying it's reasonable to think there's computer chips or mind altering substances or whatever the conspiracy theory is. But being worried about unknown side effects, and unknown long term side effects is reasonable.

CDC, the medical experts, say you dont have to wear a mask if youre fully vaccinated in most situations. So, thats just following the science .

Vaccines will save more lives than masks. Masks were a stopgap that can now be moved on from. People who are not getting vaccinated are against saving lives and are prolonging pandemic restrictions for everyone, at least in states that still give a damn.

You're looking for a logic hole that doesn't exist. The actual problem right now is that we don't mandate vaccine cards everywhere. You want to take off your mask? Prove it.

I mean, its not likely that vaccine passports are going to be mandated with the way things are going. it doesnt matter though. If you are vaccinated, CDC confirms you are very safe. If youre not and not wearing a mask, you are taking a personal risk and thats on you.

so in reality, we dont need vaccine passports.

Not sure if I haven't had enough coffee yet but I'm not seeing how the customer was in the wrong when vaccinated people can still spread covid to others. That is fact
