Didn't have terrible fashion like the 80's, Hollywood finally making good movies. I guess it wasn't a violent decade like the 60s so it gets a bit forgotten.

70s were awesome. Totally insane orgies, tons of drugs, and still plenty of hippies and free-thinkers. The 80s were a reaction against how awesome the 70s were becoming.

Computers and videos games started to come to market, so if you were a techno-geek you could learn Fortran and basically be on the cutting edge of computer science.

TV was getting better, and action movies like JAWS, Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon, as well as horror movies like Halloween would come out. The Godfather movies and Star Wars, too.

Economy goes up, up, up the entire decade, and things were moving to the progressive side (Roe v Wade).

The 80s were all about the moment because one could be dead by tomorrow.

Yeah it seemed pretty whack. Everything i see about it just makes it look ugly AF. Everything was covered in that fake wood paneling or that disgusting orange plastic color. Tight pants and shirts and hairy smelly late hippies. Sucky ass, early tech.

My parents were born in the 70s to i see a lot of shit from that time and i hate it.

Living rooms that still have 70s style are so gross and stuffy, yet oddly cozy.

If you were out living the drugs and free love lifestyle, no doubt it was awesome.

If you were stuck inside a brown and orange house wearing crimplene flares and a polyester shirt it seems drab as hell.

Lots of top notch music and movies though. 70s is the birth of Punk, peak Zeppelin, peak Bowie, peak Floyd, peak Miles Davis (arguably), Krautock, funk etc.

70s colors were awful.

I mean the 80s were all flashy but still lively to look at.

There was a fair amount of social change in the 70s. Also microprocessing, while still in its fledgling years, was starting to become more viable (in other words it was starting to come to the point the Model T was intended for when Ford manufactured it for the automotive market). The Oregon Trail is from the 70s, for instance. Pocket calculators hit the market in this time so people had digital computational abilities like never before during that decade.

Being born in 90, I got to see all the 70s nostalgia going on by my parents, other adults, and the cultural cycle of nostalgia so I got a soft spot for it mainly the music, but a lot of shows and movies as well. I looove disco music and the overall style. Besides the disco glitz and glamor it was a pretty ugly decade. I remember looking through my parents' yearbooks. So much brown and orange and ugly shoes with big heels worn by men and women. So many huge collars. Then there's the wood paneling and brown, orange and puke green color tones with ugly patterns on the furniture.

Musically it's my favorite decade. There was great R&B, Funk, disco, and it probably was the best decade for Rock music. There were the beginnings of heavy metal as well (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc.)

I love the 80s too though.

I still want to grab one of those old Pulsar watches.

Originals can run $6,000 now.

Not sure what makes the Hamilton version different.
