I managed to get everyone through first time through.

From what I remember the trickiest one is choosing the other fire team leader. Maybe the vent too.

Not really. Make everyone loyal and it's generally obvious who will do alright where.

The real problem is the reaper IFF mission and being unable to do basically anything or lose your crew.

Sort of but not really. I was able to reload the final mission and get the true ending by making the choices I was supposed to

Same here. Plus, best of all, I finally got to romance Tali, who would've been my choice back in 1 if it had been possible.

Yes and no.

I got the entire squad through alive. However the crew all died aside from Chakwas (who can't die IIRC) since I didn't know it would happen if you did too many other missions after they were captured before starting the suicide mission.

Mostly D except for only one snag. I was almost perfect too because the choices seem obvious, for tech expert choose Tali, for fire team leader choose Garrus, etc. The only one that wasn't obvious was who to escort the crew back to the ship. I chose Thane. The crew and Thane survived, but Mordin ended up being the sole casualty during the hold the line part. I'd learn later that you always use Mordin as the escort because he has the highest chance of dying if you have him hold the line.

I think a lot of people didn't realize that choosing your final team to go with you is just as important to who survives. If you take too many good soldiers like Garrus and/or Grunt with you then people like Tali or Mordin will die when holding the line.

I can't remember if it was Tali or Kasumi I got killed. Because due to videogame logic, Zaeed, a literal mercenary commander can't lead a unit of combatants, which means that in an unrelated matter my tech specialist gets shot in the head while closing a door.

Otherwise I did fine.

D. I don't know how you could have failed if you did all the loyalty missions. The choice for each role is obvious.

It's mentioned a couple of times that Zaeed was a sole survivor and got his whole team killed during a mission he commanded in the Blue Suns.

My biggest mistake after platinuming ME1 on the PS3 trilogy was to straight up start ME2 on Insanity.
I even went further than that and did the Quarian mission first.
I ended up cracking my laptop screen when I punched it out of frustration.

I wasn't planning on multiple playthroughs, so I followed a less spoilerific mini guide by Lord Trinen.

Yea I got half my crew killed and a few members died after the last mission.

I remember in ME1 killing wrex cause my paragon wasn't high enough

I replayed the trilogy few years ago and rectified all this and now I'm playing through the remaster.
