That just makes weaker coffee, it's fine. Maybe consider using less coffee instead, if you're making coffee yourself. Weigh out the coffee yourself if you have a scale, for better consistency.

An Americano is an espresso that's watered down and no one gets upset about that.

When I say I add water to bland it, I don't exclusively mean it's too bitter. I use creamer and sometimes that can make the coffee too sweet and I add water to make it not so sweet. Also sometimes I wanna guzzle down the coffee but it's too hot so I add cold or room temp water to cool it down so I can guzzle.

you're "bad at measuring shit"? just get a 1 tbsp scoop for the coffee and use 2 tbsp per 8oz of water. if you can't measure 8oz exactly just get a 16oz mug or something and dump it all in. that's what i did in my early coffee days

or if you really wanna elevate your coffee game use a scale.

Look dude I'm not about to bring out all those utilsils to make coffee. I eye all my measurements in the morning and if it's too bitter I add more milk or water kinda guy.

There's only ever a problem if it's too strong. If it is not strong enough I make a new pot of coffee which I don't think I ever done before.
