First of all, have Kai Leng die in a tragic boating accident 2 minutes in.

Second, remove the dumb PTSD kid. He sucks eggs.

Have the Crucible be an invention of some faction thats kind of the reverse of Cerberus. Or maybe have Cerberus not be jobbers in this one and make it so theyve been working with certain organisations etc to build this thing. But its basically a giant Reaper killing cannon instead of a deus ex machina.

This way you actually use the 6 months Shepard bought in Arrival instead of just hand-waving it away.

Then, the Reapers actually attack all at once towards the Citadel, because theyre not dumbasses. But the Crucible surprises them and takes one or two down. They change tactics and aim to divide and conquer, which is why theyre all spread out attacking planets at random and whatever as they do in the game now - because no fleet can easily chase them and the Crucible has to stay and defend the citadel. The rest is the same but maybe have the end not be quite so... dumb. But thats a post for another day.

Marine guy got introduced in a book, so of course nobody who didn't read that or see some animated special had zero idea who he was or why he mattered enough to join Shepherd.

Mass Effect as some of the Best and Worst writing I have ever seen in a game.

I mean this whole idea that they would make this Crucible is just stupid to me .They have no clue what it is or what it even does. They are just trying to make it and think that the bad guys would magically go away. No other weapon works like that.

Currently replaying ME2 on the Legendary Edition, I totally forgot how that whole Haelstrom dark matter storyline just gets swept under the rug lol. I think even one of the dialogue options for Shepard during Talis loyalty mission is "is this something we should be concerned about?" And Tali says something like its a problem for another day.

Would have been a better reason for why the Reapers exist, however I do believe the kill ending is the cannon one. If you want to get rid of space child I thought they could have done something with the plotline from ME1 where the scientists on Ilos figured out some signal to use at the citadel. In ME1 it's just used to open the arms up but they could have written that off in a line and said they buried something else in there.

The game shows your army, if you had perfect assets(which I did), absolutely demolishing the Reapers at every turn. Ground and air. Then if you choose the 'fuck you, star-shit" ending...

Your fucking army loses anyway? What the fuck? The Reapers stood absolutely no chance, you had the strongest military in the entire series, one that rivaled the Reapers, with tech that was capable of shredding apart Reapers wholesale, and you lose because Casey Hudson and Mac Walter's couldn't let go of their fucking precious RGB shit garbage ending.
