I felt this way about Westworld's first season a little bit. The clues that there are two separate timelines happening are pretty obvious in retrospect, but they just went right over my head.

I thought I was pretty good at suspecting twists until one of my friends watched just the pilot of Kill La Kill and then claimed that its so obvious that Fyuko and Satsuki are sisters.. No idea what prompted that revelation. >_>

anyways its not a big deal. Dont let jerks get you down. Its probably better to not see the twists coming. Makes things more exciting.

It definitely does. When the twists or big reveals happen, I always get so God damn excited. I'm one of those lame lameasses that says shit when crazy stuff happens on screen. It's involuntary, but I get ridiculously excited when shit like that happens, lol.

Basically, the season's storyline involves two different time periods that are roughly thirty years apart. It's just edited in such a way that it seems like it's one time period.
