Big part of why I made this topic is because I was listening to the (I think?) Joe Budden Podcast and they asked why we dont hold female musicians to the same standards and praises we hold men to. When it comes to conversations about labeling The Greatest of All Time its always Michael Jackson, Jay Z, Metallica etc. and they always find a way to shoe-in a female artist with Oh dont forget XYZ was important because she did this for women in the genre. Why cant a woman just be in the conversation for being great, and not just as a token entry/participation trophy sort of thing? Plenty of women making GREAT music.
