Playlist is current at the time of this post. Stats are 241 tracks totaling 15h 17m. I think we even ended up with 2 or 3 of @a-c-a-b s submissions on there! In some instances where the specific track posted wasnt available on Spotify, but they had music, I defaulted to their most played song or in one specific instance their only song. @furb since So Hot Youre Hurting My Feelings was already posted I put Hit Me Where it Hurts in its place.

Yep. Big part of why I made this topic is because I was listening to the (I think?) Joe Budden Podcast and they asked why we dont hold female musicians to the same standards and praises we hold men to. When it comes to conversations about labeling The Greatest of All Time its always Michael Jackson, Jay Z, Metallica etc. and they always find a way to shoe-in a female artist with Oh dont forget XYZ was important because she did this for women in the genre. Why cant a woman just be in the conversation for being great, and not just as a token entry/participation trophy sort of thing? Plenty of women making GREAT music. I listen to a lot of it, heres a topic for it. While this is true I think really the Metal Community and Folk/Country community really had movements spearheaded by female voices tbh. The culture in these two circles tend to be very accepting of the fact that Metallica or Bob Dylan are the inception of such sounds and likewise those two artists praise the coming of new voices in equal measure. The rest of the world pre-90s was very much about shafting female artists if they werent pop based.. or were just taken as eye candy unfortunately Anyways, I lurked this topic and will start checking these out x) --- ...
