Well first of all you DONT have to subscribe to all of them. And second people are having bad price memory about cable. The more barebone, low tier packages started around 30-40, mid tier 50-60, all channels around 80 and if you wanted the whole HBO, CINEMAX, STARZ, SHOWTIME package it was around 120+.

Between Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Amazon Prime and HBO its less than 60. Hell, you can discovery + and some miscellaneous apps and still doesnt reach what we used to pay. Plus you have the option to pay with friends and family sometimes halving the price.

Just subscribe to the ones you actually watch and you won't have a problem.

Yeah even having all of the streaming services is less expensive than anything but the most basic sports packages.

It's still shitty that so much stuff is getting pulled from the general services so companies can do their own useless ones

It would definitely cost me more to add cable to my internet service than it does to have Netflix, Hulu, and HBO.

HBO Max alone has offered far more for me than cable TV ever did

Why shill for these streaming services? Sure you can get those services listed for under $60. But when it was just Netflix, you could get most of the good content from those services for a tenth of that. It was supposed to be better than cable, and now it's just another form of cable.

If you live in an area where a cable company has a monopoloy (so 95% of the country, even places in major metro areas), cable is like $110 a month if you want stuff like Comedy Central or AMC. You know, stuff that should be part of the basic package but isn't.

True.

But does anyone pay for all their streaming services anyway? I pay for 1 out of the 5 I have access too. I let Paramount/CBS die off when my card changed.

Streaming is about connections and community :3

This.

I would be fine with doing Netflix and Hulu, like how it used to be. But now Amazon, Disney, HBO, Apple and Paramount all want to do their own service.

It doesn't help that most of these companies pull their ip's when they start their own service. Liked all that Disney/Marvel stuff that was on Netflix? Too bad, it's Disney+ only now.

But now you can just unsubscribe from overpriced netflix for a month and switch to a cheaper different service to watch whatever. Any netflix exclusives will still be there next month, you don't have to watch it asap, and ends up cheaper than just netflix in the long run.

My cable and internet was over $125 years ago, now I pay $60 for cable plus $35 for Sling and $10-15 for a few other services. Cable and internet now would probably be nearing $150 now.

The only thing stopping me from giving up cable entirely is live sports. I can't watch my Cardinals/Blues online due to local blackout restrictions, so I'm forced to keep cable for that.

All I have in terms of streaming services is Netflix, VRV, and Funimation.

Right now I have...

Netflix - $19.24
Hulu - free
Disney+ - free
(Verizon plan comes with the Disney bundle at no extra cost, also includes ESPN+ but I dont watch sports)
Peacock - free (parents have it for free through their cable provider and gave me their password)
Discovery Plus - free (I think this one is through Verizon too? But only for a year iirc)
Prime Video - I pay for Prime annually and get my moneys worth from it so I consider this free as well

Then I use a bunch of free apps on my Rokus like TubiTV and The Roku Channel

even if I had to pay for all of those itd only be like $60 a month for unlimited access to whatever I want to watch whenever I want to watch it and wherever I want to watch it, so not bad

Why not? I have and actively use all of the ones listed in the op and there are more I would watch if the service were free (peacock and paramount). Plus there are other more niche services like shudder I am interested in

Even so, the format of streaming is much, much better than traditional cable TV imo.

My internet alone is $150 a month. Cable on top of that would be around $300. I pay maybe around $30 for streaming services and I have access to HBO, Hulu, Netflix, Prime, D+, Spotify, Crunchyroll Premium. I only pay for 3 of those lol

A couple of people and myself share passwords between ourselves. I still mostly only use HBO Max as of late. Such a great service. That's the one I am actually paying for, as well.
