I've seen a few of my younger relatives using it. I guess it means to get yours or make yours as in making money or getting a good portion of a profit.

They use it in sports all the time such as "LeBron is going to eat tonight". Meaning LeBron is gonna play and get a ton of points. I dunno.

This is a really old saying.

Person wins on a slot machine: "I'm gonna eat tonight!"

Seems very strange to use it before something good happens though, that part is kinda new.
