Current Events > Ice powers or Fire powers?

Ice is equivalent of Sub Zero from MK (Deception). Basically can manifest small ice items out of nothing; would take years to make a full castle unlike Elsa.

Fire is equivalent to Fire Storm in Legends of Tomorrow; but immunity to intense heat (up to 4000f).

I was going to pick ice, but this isn't really a choice.

Ice power is balanced; Fire power doesn't have the versatility imo.

what would you use the fire powers for?

Welding? You wont need any fancy equipment, or gear to carry and wear. Also hot and humid weather suddenly becomes a non issue.

Ice is good in that respect as well, but ice sculptures arent all that popular to my knowledge, neither are colder climates.

I always forget to put ice cube trays back in the freezer and it annoys me when I can't have ice with my rum, so on that basis, I'm going with ice.

make ice cubes for dehydration purposes
Create tools
armor I guess
travel (ice slides)
lots of things, just gotta think. Ice sticks around; Fire doesn't.

I don't know if Firestorm gets hot enough to weld, but if so that cool; I didn't think of that (alternately you can cold weld). I see fire as a destructive force; so less use, but I'm sure there's a lot of cool shit you could do with it.

If it's Firestorm's powers, you can just fly. And going by your description of "small objects," I feel like you wouldn't be able to make ice slides anyway.

Ice sticks around longer than fire; thats what I meant.
Igloo is more meant for others; but in more of a hot environment (its going to be cold and provide shade).
Subzero can make tools that are actually durable; and he's whos powers you get. an ice sword strong enough to hit stone at full force and not crack.
Slides would be more like the "ice puddles" he makes, and sliding across them so no flight; you win there no contest; but you can use it for others like ice; you can slide a whole party of 30 people down a road.

also: You could be the best fire fighter ever with EITHER power; just gotta decide how you wanna do it.

2 things:

1. I would take effort; but it's possible for a smaller neighborhood (maybe 2 miles each direction?)
2. Over time you wouldnt need as much effort one you froze the ground and the surrounding area become naturally colder because of it.

Really just want a good argument for the fire powers at the point.

Never heard of Legends of Tomorrow, so I don't know what Firestorm does, but I think I'd still pick fire if it were just the 4000f immunity over that description of ice powers.

How though? I can think of hundreds of uses for Ice that are not only constructive, but also beneficial to human kind as a whole; even limited to Sub-Zeros level.

Fire seems destructive at a basic level and I cant think of any way it's not aside from cooking; cauterizing wounds, welding, or melting basic objects into "walls" to stop other fires. I know you get flight based off the power source I chose; be he also never uses it past "Fireball" or "Fire Flight".

Edit: Maybe I should make a whole new topic based off the question? Idk.

Generally I would go with ice because if you have an absolute control you could essentially make any kind of construct you want, ice weapons, shield, armor, launch high speed ice shards like bullets, ice walls, lower the temperature and slow down enemies etc.

Fire IMO is better for like survival, since you always have a light source, a heat source, and a way to cook but combat wise idk, ice lets you be more creative

I've watched enough episodes of Fire Force. Fire can be pretty versatile. I can turn it into tattoos that turn me into Rock Lee and shit or bazooka hands or control rocket mops.

I think I lean toward ice.

4000 degrees? How hot are volcanoes again?

Would be could to swim in one, or something

Also a quick look would suggest not only welding but even some very minor earth bending(make lava and cool it basically)

Fire consumes but it's more like destruction into creation if you're clever with it

Realistically I dont see myself getting much use out of either, so I went with fire. Being guaranteed to never die in a fire is nice.
