Nope, haven't moved to those yet. I'm still using my MP3 files from the iTunes days.

I did look through Spotify's catalog and while I was impressed how much of my library was on there, wasn't close enough to 100% for me to make the switch. In particular some of my favorites were missing (I specifically remember "Violation Of The Rules" by HAL being one I couldn't find on there, though there were others too).

Yeah. As a hip hop head listen to A LOT of music and buying every single release from every single artist I like is not realistic.

Streaming allows me to legally listen to just about everything they release and the artists still get some support from it

I like it. I listen to everything, im not pirating and the artists get paid.

Id say the majority of my cds were thrown away, had a ton of songs on computers back in the day but those computers are all long gone.

Never paid for a streaming service. Main method is mp3/wav/flac on my phone, have about 12k songs on a micro SD card.

Also have ~400 vinyl I spin when I'm home.

They do add stuff over time, usually its not on there for legal reasons like sample clearances and stuff.

Juicy J for example has had some of his mixtapes from the 2010s just get added relatively recently after working out the lag like stuff

If Spotify is any indication of what streaming services offer then they hardly offer anything at all. Even when they had an artist I looked up, they hardly had anything by them.

Nope, still doing mp3s via YouTube or SoundCloud conversions then putting it onto my music player. I do the 320 kbps conversion options but Im aware its still not optimal. Oh well, Ive gotten pretty alright at doing it with a number of different methods over the last few years, and artists circulate most of their music in regular audio format easily enough if youre willing to look.

But will admit its still kinda streaming in a way since I make use of my home wifi while making the offline copies. I have plenty of 2020/2021 music in digitized copy.

For older music, I mostly have official mp3 formats. It does make a difference but with newer music, eh. Not caring enough to spend money on a vpn to do torrents just to be an audiophile.

Nah. I have an iPod Touch that I put all my music on. No ads, no limit on skipping, and it's exactly the music I want (no moments of "wtf am I listening to!?"), sorted how I like it. I do discover new music sometimes on spotify/YouTube, but then I just put the songs I liked on the iPod.
