Wow, good for him. His family must be incredibly proud, hopefully he puts that rare genius brain to good work in the future.

What a depressing future he's got ahead of him. Too young to enter the work force and going to have a hard time keeping his skills honed in the meantime. Plus it's not like he's got friends he'll stay in contact with his entire life from college, maybe colleagues but they would mostly be professors I reckon.

I'm pretty sure places make exceptions for people like him.

How is it possible for Kids to graduate early? Do they work on school work all year round and have never taken a summer vacation?

That's the lie they told current pandemic college students to convince them not to graduate at 12.

Don't get me wrong, the kid is clearly brilliant, but "getting a 2-year degree from a community college" and "graduating college" are not the same thing.

Probably building up a resume at first and then they become one of those scientists/doctors that do their jobs but aren't recognized at large. Or they completely burn out but I'd think stuff like that would be noted if it happened often.

He'd probably go to grad school and get a PhD.

I believe there was some article from like ten years ago about one notable one from twenty years ago and he was doing quite well. I think part of the problem is a lot of people assume they're going to go on to be famous rather than simply exceed really well in their field of choice.

These stories always come off as sad to me. Many child prodigies don't do well in adulthood, or sometimes before they even get there. It always reminds me of Brendenn Bremmer.

I don't understand the point of this, like people are saying. Are they really so bored in school they can't just take a normal path? Is it worth it to miss out on all of the social development? Even if they go on to get a PhD maybe they're like 16-20 years old, that's so young to be jumping into the workforce.

These kinds of kids are typically able to advance so fast that they'd be doing essentially nothing in school each day. There is an argument from a social development standpoint, but going to school while being extremely bored at rehashing stuff you could do blindfolded also isn't really healthy either.

All I can think about when I hear these kinds of stories is how sorry I feel for the kid. They will never have anything even remotely resembling a normal life.
