always been a fan of the show! Super Stylish

I rewatched almost all of the old seasons to prep myself. I skipped 5 episodes of the last season

pretty excited!

Its pretty interesting seeing how both Aku and Jack handle the 50 year timeskip. Aku is MUCH more comedic. its crazy to see how flanderized he got. But I guess it makes sense. According to the prequel thing, he was just some cosmic entity and it wasn't until he landed on earth and started absorbing humans is when he took on a more humanoid look

but since hes been ruler for thousands of years, I guess he got complacent. Not so much in power, but like, he took in the evolving technology. Hes on ads for Soda and even the fucking Air Jordans are named after him. He orders pizzas. Etc. I can understand why this happened, its kinda funny

on the other hand, Jack's inner turmoil is telling him to kill himself. Yikes

Even though this aired in Adult Swim, I guess they took the high road and didn't go fully all adult. Its keeping some humor and yea, Jack's inner self didn't actually say to take his own life or commit seppuku, Jack kept cutting him off. Theres already more violence but not a total gorefest. Like i said, high road

Maybe this gets answered later but, are the 7 daughters of Aku a generational thing or is this the first of their kind?
There were other cultist ladies and the daughters killed them during training. Did they just "take their place"?

Now HERES the main thing that blew me away

at the end of the day, the first seasons were still a kids show. He had to be destroying robots.
I figure he WOULD be killing living things off screen or something. HELL, DIDN"T he kill living people on screen? (That episode where the 5 bounty hunters team up comes to mind)

at my most cynical, I've always thought "Jack sure overexerts himself, if he just goes back in time, it will solve ALL of this anyways"

but here we are, proof its all worth it

she has...like, a snout? when you see from the side

and when you look at her from a forward view, she has no nose. Its just two holes in her face. Thats just a pet peeve, I hate it when cartoons are drawn that way. Give them a damn nose

I dunno, one funny part to me is that Ashi doesn't care about her dead sisters at all (probably part of her training though)

also, 3 of them fell off the cliff (Ashi included) and She and Jack survived, maybe some of them will come back

because while still tragic,in GL's ending, at least he got to finish the wedding :(

The ending felt super rushed but they did the best they could
I'm glad they got all of his old mentors back
I know its entirely impossible to include the friends from the future in the celebration, but it sucks they never got a happy ending

....watch its split time lines, and the future kept going after Jack left it lol

You must have missed it, in one of the eps when jack is in that area, you see the glasses of blue morpheus broken on the ground and the portal destroyed, implying aku killed him

I GUESS I missed that but

The only way to get access to that area was getting the ride through a sentient water animal

I don't remember Jack doing that at all (I'm willing to admit maybe I'm remembering the circumstances incorrectly, I DID binge all of the episodes so maybe they're blurring together )

and what a way to fucking go. He seemed to work for a higher power or soemthing. He clearly knew more than he let on. Who put him there? Why is he so dedicated to this? How did he already know Jack? How was he so powerful?
And yea, its just a waste from a plot point of view AND a waste of a potential ally
but it was just reduced to some throwaway reference

I think there are probably a few plot holes, because from what I understand there was intended to be more to the series when it was first canceled. When they finally brought it back, they knew it would be all they were gonna get, so they had to tie stuff up as best they could. Like if you remember, blue guy foreshadowed that jack would be like a king one day or something; that never came to fruition or was seen again. Just the nature of the series.
