No idea on the price. My niece got a full ride scholarship for college and he essentially has blown her college fund since that announcement.

He had traded in a different Corvette that he had a few years for the down payment. Hes been waiting since like February and keeps getting a different answer on when he'll get it. Not sure what the old one was, but here's a picture from when it was picked up.

There's a lot to get into but to give the short of it...

You can't buy any higher end ferrari unless you're on a preapproved list.

To get on the preapproved list, you must buy used ferraris/own ferraris for a length of time, present yourself as a ferrari aficionado by attending events, talking about them on social meda, always be postitive about the brand for better or worse/never publicly talk down about the brand, treat your already purchased ferraris in a manner the brand approves of, do not do anything to "embarrass" the brand, do not sell your new ferraris in manner the brand does not approve of.

Aside from that, the brand is very much up their own ass with no sense of humor, taking themselves very seriously. Here's a video on the subject

C5 Corvette. I don't like what C7 and C8 look like. They just shat the bed with the designs. I like C5 and C6 a lot.

If I had to choose out of those 3 options though, then Audi R8 V10. And that's through process of elimination since I'm not a Ferrari guy and I don't like the C8 Corvette.

supercar insurance is actually a lot more reasonable than you would imagine becuause they know the cars won't be driven that much

a c8 probably wouldn't break the bank, but still not be cheap, a mustang would higher than average because they are super cheap, generally driven as daily or semi daily drivers, and get in a lot more wrecks per capita, whereas people crashing 500k+ supercars are generally not that commonplace.

It's a lot of factors, but insurance companies aren't stupid. With cheap cars that have lots of power, the prices are going to be a lot higher than a higher end sports car with a lot of power who's primary demographic is going to be an older, more experienced driver who will probably have a sensible daily driver on the side. There are exceptions of course, but insurance is generally priced along analytics of the risk a company is taking on a particular car/segment vs the overall value in a bubble.

oh really? didn't know that. I thought you could do the same with the gallardo and huracan etc.....daily drivers. How is it more practical? all of em have 2 seats

They are cool but I probably can't afford the insurance and I have no where to put it unless I get rid of my SUV that has much more day to day utility than a sports car does.

insurance on higher end cars is actually not as expensive as people think. mostly because they are driven by older men (low risk demographic) and labeled as "weekend cars" in the policy. The less they think you drive it, the less risk of an accident. Both reduce the premium significantly.

67 more HP, but C8 runs a quicker 1/4 mile by .2 seconds (supposedly). Rumor has it that the Chevy may have sandbagged the C8's HP numbers too since it puts down like 460HP at the wheels. Splitting the atom here but comes down to preference in the end. The C8 also has newer technology on its side.

It's the same drivetrain, but in a less "hardcore"/uncomfortable package, more forgiving ride quality, and about double the luggage capacity, cheaper, more available parts.

And if it matters to you, it's a less flashy car, so less of a cop magnet, less of a rubber necker magnet.

From what i've seen, nobody in the real world have been able to hit the quarter mile times on the stock tires. The c8 cannot be tuned yet as the ECU hasn't been cracked, so even if you throw some turbos on like some people have, you're only running on wastegate pressure and can't map the fuel, purely relying on the stock ECU to compensate by just throwing more fuel at it randomly, so AFR's are all over the place and it's super inefficient.

tbqh, the current c8 is not a reasonable comparison for something like that. We need to wait a few years for the ZR1 or Zora trims to come out. Here's a leaked list of the trims

I'd rather drive a Lambo over Ferrari, but Ferrari's are still exciting, so I'll go with the 458. I know all 3 are technically supercars, but the Ferrari, to me, stands out more.

Of these three the R8. I already drive a MK3 TT so thats just another step up.

Personally Im a Lamborghini guy though so if I had the money Id buy a Urus over all of these.

As someone else said, Ferrari is annoying about their products, and the C8 is a step below until the Z06/ZR1 come out.
