What's the reason for this? I can take my mask off inside a restaurant but I need to have it on at all times if I was to go to sports event.

And kids are required to wear masks at all times in schools but thats where the biggest outbreaks are right now.

What gives.

But sports events can have ridiculous amounts of people in full mask. Why is it OK indoors to take them off.

Because who wants to take on and off a mask between bites? Might as well leave them closed

Because you only take them off long enough to eat.

The obvious answer is that you cant eat with a mask on. So it doesnt make much sense to mandate masks in places that specialize in food.

It's easier to social distance at a restaurant than a sporting event or crowded school. The waiter or waitress coming up to you is the only iffy thing, but we pull our mask up when we notice them coming.
