Ive seen a lot of try hard know it alls saying that if youre vaccinated for the coronavirus you still need to worry about others who havent been vaccinated or people potentially lying about being vaccinated. Why? It doesnt make any sense. If youre vaccinated youre suppose to be immune to the coronavirus and it doesnt matter if someone else is or isnt. Youre safe. This topic probably wont get many responses because it makes some of these fear mongers realize how ridiculous their thinking is and rather than accepting it or talking about it, they will go and run and hide in their echo chamber.

Being immune merely means your immune system knows what to look out for and to go after it with a kill-on-sight attitude. That doesn't mean your immune system has an infinite capacity to fight any given pathogen. If so much enters your body that your immune system can't fight all of it effectively, even the immunized can get sick.

Generally speaking, in normal circumstances, it'll be enough, but if there's a strong concentration of infected spreading the virus around, it might not be.

Especially when it comes to dealing with a public (read: not personal) health crisis that has necessitated some pretty drastic social changes in order to keep it from killing even more people than it already has. Those can't revert until case numbers get to a more manageable level, and that's not going to happen without either reaching adequate vaccination rates or continued compliance with restrictions.

Same deal as polio - if you are vaccinated, but you catch polio, you won't suffer the illeffects of polio, but you'll still be able to spread it for.... in the case of polio about 5 days

Notice how US virus cases are rising lately even though half of adults have at least one vaccine dose by now?

It's because of people with attitudes like yours.

Attitudes actively contributing to loss of human life.

Leave these decisions to people who know better than you.

And yes, I know better than you.

I had a good in person argument with someone today. He hadn't actually read anything to do with the vaccines and wanted to go 'with his gut'. Eventually I literally wrung out of him that he doesn't care if millions die, and the world needs less people. I said the world has a greed problem, not an overpopulation problem. At one point I said 'well, the Nazi party sounds alright for you!' and he went with 'sure, fine!'.

I still smoked weed with him and brought the conversation back down, but the attitude of people grosses me out.

could have pointed out that since corona has killed 570k in the US now, it is almost about to beat aids... which since its classification in the early 60's has killed about 700k in the US (up to 2018)

This stuff mutates, there are a bunch of other strains now. People are safer, but not from all strains, and when there are people who don't take precautions, that is going to spread.

When people ask me, I state that there's a relative in my household who's autoimmune compromised. Of course that hasn't stopped people from going around me mask less or influenced them to get vaccinated, even though I wear a mask every time that I go anywhere (change into 2 or 3 masks a day and wash them between uses, as well as wash my hands whenever possible). It does however, make me feel as if I'm doing my part to stop the spread of Covid-19 and shows others that I care about their health and welfare as well as my own.

people hardcore into the vaccine all that stuff they asked if Arv was getting it Arv said not at the moment and they said it isnt about you being safe its about everyone around you and Arv said the only person whos safe when they get the vaccination is themselves you can still carry the disease. The fear mongering doesnt work with Arv
