Time for a chain attack!

*assume spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles 1 (including Future Connected)*

Yesterday:
Born in a world of strife, against the odds, Dunban chose to fight and won himself the title of best Xenoblade character!
1st- Dunban (16)
2nd- Melia (12)
3rd- Riki/Shulk (8)

Today:
We have the same options but this is purely from a gameplay standpoint. Define 'best' however you wish. Will Dunban's Blossom Dance and agile acrobatics propel him to another victory? Will Melia's more complex moveset take her to the top spot? Will Shulk's Monado Arts overpower the others? How about Fiora's wide variety of options? Or will the winner be tanky Reyn or Nene, heropon of all trades Riki, or dedicated healers Sharla or Kino? You decide!

(Note: I considered merging the FC Nopon with Reyn/Sharla, but with their different health pools and the lack of chain attack+team options in FC I figured they were different enough to count on their own. Combine their votals if you wish.)

Tomorrow:
Best Antagonist
(I have ideas for future topics but I'm open to suggestions!)

Melly Melly until I got to the superbosses, then I had to go Shulk/Reyn/Dunban

I liked mixing it up throughout the game and Melia is a lot of fun, but Shulk/Reyn/Riki was my team for the superbosses. Riki's heal is just too good, and I have no idea how anyone could beat those bosses without Shulk's Monado Armour.

Dunban was probably my favorite due to his speed and having a full Daze combo that was easy to pull off.

Though the only characters I didn't enjoy playing as were Reyn and Sharla, and they were still good to have in the party.

Melia and Riki. Spam all the DoT all the time. Throw in Dunban for some extra bleeding.

It's neck and neck between Shulk and Melia!

Do Melia fans prefer her orb moves or the physical Starlight Kick stuff?

Actually kind of surprised Shulk is doing so well - useful as he is I always thought he was kind of slow. But I guess This Is The Monado's Power

The Monado really is OP, when the game goes to Mechonis I shifted to Shulk as my lead for ages as I didn't want to keep swapping Anti-Mechon weapons around on the rest of the gang. And he is crazy useful for superbosses. I think everybody has their uses though (even Sharla is good for sniping birds or when you're super underleveled!), I really like how differently they all feel to play.

Also I think some people just never switch away from Shulk as lead through the whole game >_> He is the easiest to pick up and figure out too, and you never have to take an Art off him.

hold 2 ether orbs, then rotate between all of her other orbs. Save starlight kick for instant topple when you need it and build towards a chain attack where you can burst end at the very end for all the damage

I tried Starlight Kick but it didn't really work for me, I like to keep Melia at a distance and it was already hard enough deciding which Orbs to put in her deck. By the end it was usually Wind+Fire orbs I had on constantly and then just shuffling between the rest (Lightning was super OP by lategame, everything was weak to Ether!).
