I can only speak from my experience but the south americans I knew thought about the US about as much as americans think about Ireland or Morocco

Considering what we've accomplished on the world stage the past century.....why not? Meanwhile what has south America, Ireland, Morocco, Australia, Canada, and most others aside from like a dozen overall have done?

I don't know the answer but in the spirit of debate I'd argue the US has interfered in a lot of elections and governments and started a lot of wars -- but so have Russia and China

And I think americans assume the US is seen as the greatest country on earth, but I think most of the world views us in the way we see russia and china -- some strange land far away meddling in global affairs, nothing particularly special about the US

I wont deny our global meddling hasn't caused more issues then solved. But then again was the world a better place before we started doing so? Are more stabilized countrys capable of creating their own nuclear arsenal in time a good thing?

I'm not one for much nationalism in general and I can speak about the negatives of the US. I think there's a side that kind of takes the negative narrative a bit too far though.
You can think the US has done some good while not seeing it as a horrible place.
