My whole thing with ghosts and stories of seeing ghosts...its almost always some really obscure thing that looks like a piece of dust on the lenses, then when they research it they find that hundreds of years ago someone died there so the ghost is always some 19th century old person.

you would think by now people from the 2000s in Chicago bulls jerseys and limp bizkit hats would show up, but no...every ghost is still majorly from prehistoric times.

i have my own 100% confirmation the "afterlife" exists in some manner because my eyes and ears are still being functional to this day but like you'd expect, when i found the proof, it happened when you least expected and you never think to document it in any capacity.

however im like 51% sure the "afterlife" is your brain releasing a massive flood of dmt when you die that can last quite a long time (maybe forever) but it's all happening "in your head" and you're dead. like dead, jack.

You usually can't prove a negative beyond any doubt, but you can at least offer evidence that suggests it's more likely than not.

For the unicorn example - over thousands of years, we don't have a single credible sighting. We haven't found any unicorn fossils. We haven't got photos of unicorns. Importantly, if unicorns did exist, we could expect to have that by now.

An afterlife on the other hand, we have as much evidence to prove there is one as we do to prove there isn't. There's simply no way we can know, really. We can be fairly sure there isn't any kind of afterlife that lets dead people interact with the living, because we don't have credible reports / proof of such interactions happening and there are billions of dead people by this point so we could expect to have encountered some. But we can't be sure there isn't something disconnected from this world altogether.
