I think so. You can spin it in an interesting way depending on how fast they heal andnhow they use it

You can even have a twist where people thought they were some kind of invincible hero and they don't even realize this hero still feels 100% of pain, but they just endure it because a hero can't show a face of fear or pain around the people they are there to save

No.

I didn't ask if it existed.

Super strength, heat vision, x-ray vision, speed, etc. are Superman's main powers. Accelerated healing is one of his ancillary abilities.

Wolverine and Deadpool are proper examples of characters whose PRIMARY power is accelerated healing. Hell even Flash is known for healing fast over Superman.

I dunno, I think a hero that ran around screaming like a psychopath as people shot/stabbed/super powered him would be amazing.

Just imagine what a bunch of machine gun toting thugs would think as they filled this guy full of lead and he just ran at them screaming and sobbing.

On the flip side how amazing of a reveal would it be when people are losing faith in the hero when they hit a wall they are having a hard time overcoming when it's revealed his only power is healing and all of the miraculous stuff they've pulled off thus far is something ANYONE could do, but dont out of fear of danger. They still feel just as much pain as us and yet still put themselves in harms way

Just feel like that could work in a nice turnaround point

The main struggle is that healing is a passive thing, and if it only affects the user, then its only narrative function is to remove tension. So it would be hard to have that alone as the hook.

You could do a Wolverine or Last of Us thing where your characters ability creates conflict because other people want it, maybe.

You could add a limiting condition to the ability, like can only heal when exposed to direct sunlight or something.

Or have the ability be part of a wider condition, like if your character was undead, which would give you more tools to play with.

But perhaps the simplest solution would be to forego natural healing and make the character have an active healing ability they can apply to anyone, which would let you do a lot more with it.

IIRC, Wolverine's healing is what made him a perfect candidate for the adamantium procedure he endured. So that was an interesting way to incorporate a healing ability into a decades-old plot, essentially leading to him gaining new abilities (which is basically being indestructible) as a result.

Oh, so it's an ancillary ability that only comes into play once in a trilogy of movies and only under certain circumstances.

He's used telescopic vision too it's not one of his main powers. Not sure why we're even citing movies but whatever.

dude... I said Superman in general, not the movie Superman only. Superman does have accelerated healing. You just dont see it often because well, how often does he ever get injured apart from kryptonite?

You clearly aren't paying attention to the nuances of particular words.

Healing isn't one of Superman's main powers period. Every power he has can't be a "main power" regen does not permit Superman to be Superman. Wolverine? Deadpool? Fuck, even Majin Boo? Yeah. Supes no.

there's no 'main power'. Your idea of 'main power' is simply how you perceive that character to be. In this case, I could argue Wolverine's 'main power' is his retractable claws, not his healing factor. Deadpool's 'main power' is cracking stupid jokes while being an exceptional swordsman and marksman, not his healing factor. I could also say Hulk's main power is his healing factor then.

Deadpool is probably who comes to mind when healing factor is mentioned these days, but if you take a look at the marvel and DC universe, a s*** ton of superheroes all have healing factors too, some even more greater than Deadpool's. But if that's how you want to put it, then I can only tell you Deadpool is your only answer. That's because most people simply don't know the other superheroes as well

I think the main point is you really dont see Superman or hulk get visibly injured very often.

At worst they tend to get beaten around and look tired, so a lot of people dont really think of them healing.

He's being obtuse on purpose. Superman does have advanced healing. But it's not one of his main abilities, and this topic asking about a hero whose main ability is his healing.

yeah, so I told TC if you want to look at it that way, then Deadpool is the only answer. Because his is the only one with a solo movie centering around his healing factor
