That's very much a regional thing, then. More commonly, I see biscuits/scones served either on their own (unadorned, aside from butter or maybe a bit of jam) or as a side dish. French toast, by comparison is almost always served with syrup and/or fruit, just like pancakes/waffles. --- This is my signature.
