I mean even if it was pre-tax I can find places to live in here that cost like $1k or less per month to live in even alone.

It's quite nice. I could live comfortably. But wouldn't consider it a whole lot.

My wife and I live pretty comfortably off $4500 a month post tax so yeah thatd be nice

I was just asking a question I pay my morgage truck note and all my bills and still have about 1500 left over for the month I budget very well.

After taxes its decent money. Before taxes its fresh out of college $. Wouldn't call it good money where I live (Denver metro).

It would depend on the city, honestly. In Los Angeles, or other expensive cities, it would be a decent income. But not what I would consider a lot.

You posted a 1,000 sq ft apartment at $2,800 a month as proof that 5k a month is 'good money' minus food and health insurance this dude has at best 1k a month going into the reserves. Ideally he is putting away more through some kind of matching 401k with his work but if he isn't then that is not "good money".

Being able to live in a a fucking $1,000 sq foot apartment is not "good money" in most of the country.

But TC asked if 5k a month is considered "a lot" of money. We're saying that if you live in an expensive city (such as Los Angeles), it would be considered "good" but not "a lot".
