yea i dont get pho either. everytime i get vietnamese its got to to be chicken/pork/beef with tomato rice. feels like im missing out if i dont order it. but these days the tomato rice taste bland as fuck. only coloring no flavor.

also korean food is the best asian food, followed by japanese imo

"chinese food" encompasses so fucking much it's like saying "european food"

all i know is japanese food is shockingly bland and underwhelming, their restaurant scene is way too focused on presentation and refinement, their home-cooking is just whatever's in the fridge/pantry simmered in mirin and sake and soy sauce, and their street food is just fried whatever drizzled in mayo. fuck that whole cuisine.

korean and thai are the best imo, nice tastebud-punching flavors and intensities

Well sure if you compare it to other asian foods where all they do is throw disgusting amounts of sugar at whatever they're cooking. Japanese food tends to be more delicate and subtle
